Job summary

Mercy Child Advocacy Center Hot Springs seeks an Educator/Child Advocate to develop and present educational programs for all age groups in the service area. The role involves meticulous recordkeeping, reporting to the Director, and maintaining NCATrak logs to support case resolutions.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in social work or related field, excel in communication, and can engage diverse professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience presenting educational programs preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with Department of Human Services, State Police, Law Enforcement and other agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present educational programs for all ages within Mercy Child Advocacy Center service area.
• Maintain recordkeeping and reporting to the Director; log information in NCATrak database.
• Support child in court and advocate for resolutions; maintain contact with child and family when possible.
• Work flexible schedule including evening presentations; adhere to Mercy Service Standards.

This position is responsible for the development and presentation of educational programs for all age levels within the service area of the Cooper-Anthony Mercy Child Advocacy Center. This position is responsible for the recordkeeping responsibilities and reporting to the Director. Under general direction of the Mercy Child Advocacy Center Director, adhere to principles of Service Excellence and the Philosophy and Mission of Mercy Health Center in all aspects of job performance.

Excellent organization and communication skills. Ability to work with many different professions. Previous experience in the area of child welfare preferred. Must have flexible nature. To reduce systematic trauma to children and their families. To advocate for successful case resolutions for children. To empower non-offending significant others. To influence institutions/others towards better treatment of child sexual abuse issues. The advocate is also responsible for maintaining contact with the child and family if possible. Supporting the child in court and logging information into the NCATrak database. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or BS in social work or related field

Other Skills and Knowledge:

• Maintain collaborative working relationships with Department of Human Services, State Police, Law Enforcement, and other child abuse agencies.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and willingness to deal collaboratively and cooperatively with health care institution and community.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to conduct professional and quality presentations.
• Computer skills to include but not limited to: WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Printmaster, Adobe and etc.
• Technology related to the use of projectors, video equipment and networking of systems to produce presentations.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule which will include evening presentations.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Background check.
