Overview

Position: Educator Assistant (EA)
Location/Dept.: The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA
Availability: Immediate
Schedule: Part Time. The EA must be willing and able to work Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM. The EA may need to work occasionally outside of these hours for special events, including Saturdays.
Reporting Relationship: Education Director
Salary Grade: $15.00

Responsibilities

1. Assist the Educator I in implementing traditional and non-traditional educational and recreational activities for youth in grades K-7.
2. Assist youth in grades K-7 with homework completion.
3. Act as a role model for students and exhibit positive rapport and strong communication skills with program participants, staff, and parents.
4. Assist with planning and implementing special events and Family Nights.
5. Maintain a clean work environment.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma; college credits in Education preferred.
2. Experience in childcare or related fields helpful.
3. Must be detail-oriented and organized.
4. Willing to work with diverse populations and age/grade groups.
5. Safety-conscious and able to respond to safety protocols.
6. Ability to work well with others and respond to feedback.
7. Ability to transition between school year and summer programming is preferable.
8. Must provide proof of training on recognizing and reporting child abuse (PA Act 153 of 2014) within 30 days of employment; recurrent training required every five years.
