Overview
Position: Part-time Educator Time Frame: Immediate and ongoing Hours: Up to 20 hours per week (including some afternoons and weekends) Rate: $22 per hour
Responsibilities
- Teach culinary, food system, and farm-based classes for elementary through high school students, adapting lessons to meet age and experience levels.
- Prepare materials, support program setup, and assist with clean-up.
- Facilitate hands-on cooking, gardening, and farm-based activities.
- Collaborate with staff to plan, evaluate, and refine programs in alignment with Yellow Farmhouse’s educational mission.
Required Qualifications
- Experience teaching children and/or adults.
- Passion for fostering meaningful connections to cooking and agriculture.
- Interest in food systems, agriculture, and culinary education.
- Creativity and flexibility in designing hands-on, experiential learning activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of food systems, ecology, soil health, and food justice.
- Culinary training or self-taught culinary skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in education, environmental studies, food studies, or related fields.
- Experience in program facilitation, cooking instruction, or farm-based education.
