Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and innovative half-time Food Systems and Kitchen Arts Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year only. The successful candidate will initially take over our current Beginning Foods and Advanced Foods offerings and play a key role in helping our Food Systems and Kitchen Arts program evolve and expand over time.

  • Beginning Foods (Grades 9 & 10): Teaching basic food preparation techniques and basic nutrition, while helping students plan and prepare nutritious meals.
  • Advanced Foods: Guiding students through a global culinary journey, allowing them to explore and prepare foods from cultures around the world.
  • Program Development: Collaborating with school leadership to envision and build the future of the foods program, incorporating broader food systems concepts and bridging to the formal Culinary Arts program and/or Sustainable Agriculture program at the adjacent Patricia Hannaford Career Center.
Job Requirements
  • Hold (or be eligible to hold) a relevant Vermont professional educator's license (e.g., Family and Consumer Sciences or Culinary Arts).
  • Strong background in culinary arts, food preparation, nutrition, local foods, etc.
  • A vision for developing dynamic, forward-thinking food systems and cooking curriculum.
  • Excellent organizational, collaborative, and oral/written communication skills.
  • At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
