The Skirball Cultural Center seeks a dynamic and engaging educator to facilitate school tours for TK–12th grade students. Part-time Educators lead inquiry-based tours in the Skirball’s exhibitions on Jewish culture and history, immigration, and archaeology, as well as in the Noah’s Ark exhibition.
The role uses scripted content and interactive strategies including object-based learning, storytelling, puppetry, movement, music, and artmaking to create student-centered experiences.

Part-Time Educators lead inquiry-based tours in the Skirball’s exhibitions on Jewish culture and history, immigration, and archaeology, as well as in the award-winning Noah’s Ark exhibition.
Position Overview
Part-time Educators use scripted tour content and interactive teaching strategies including object-based learning, visual thinking strategies, storytelling, puppetry, movement, music, cooperative games, and artmaking to create student-centered learning experiences. Programs for students focus on themes of community building, collaboration, immigration, family stories, identity, and more. This role is ideal for educators passionate about working with students in a museum setting and creating joyful, interactive experiences. This position reports to the Manager of Education Programs.
Rate: $21 per hour
Schedule:
This is a 24-28 hour per week, in-person position. Shifts for this position require availability in the mornings to facilitate school tours (Tuesday-Friday) and a commitment to an 8-hour shift on Saturdays to support family learning in Noah’s Ark.
Includes 2-4 hours per week for school tour preparation, team meetings, and occasional off-site workshops. The schedule is based on program needs and applicant availability.
