Job Purpose
To assist teaching staff in the delivery of appropriate instruction and services to support the educational development of students.
Essential Functions
Works with individuals of small groups of students to provide instructional and assessment support with and without direct teacher supervision.
May develop specific instructional plans within the framework of a teacher defined sequence of instruction.
May introduce new learning preplanned in collaboration with the classroom teacher and/or academic support team.
Applies classroom rules and expectation consistently.
Assists in the supervision of students during classroom activities, emergency/fire drills, assemblies, and field trips.
Collaborates and communicates effectively with classroom teacher(s)
Participates in professional development and workshops.
Performs lunch, recess, and/or arrival and dismissal duties.
Performs such other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the building principal.
