Job summary

Kittery Schools is seeking an Educational Technician II to support students in the Functional Lifeskills program at Mitchell Elementary School. The role assists Special Education Teachers with IEPs, data collection, behavior plans, and instruction across content areas.

Candidates must hold a Maine Educational Technology certification, complete fingerprints and CHRC, and demonstrate strong communication and instructional skills.

Qualifications

• Current Maine Educational Technology certification.
• Fingerprinting and Criminal History Record Check through the Maine Department of Education.
• Strong communication and instructional skills; ability to work with students who have diverse needs.
• Experience or willingness to work with students with communication disorders.

Responsibilities

• Support Special Education Teachers in implementing students' Individual Education Plans
• Collect and analyze data regarding student progress
• Follow behavior support plans and intervene as needed
• Instruct students in assigned content areas
• Work closely with elementary students in grades K-3 with varying academic, developmental, and functional needs, including communication disorders
• Provide 1:1 or small group support as required
• Assist in leading the class when the teacher steps away for a special education meeting
• Support students in all settings, including the general education classroom
• Promote independence and assist students in achieving independence
