Job summary

Osseo Area Schools in Minnesota seeks a part-time instructional assistant to support teachers and students with classroom activities and educational plans. The role involves implementing individual education plans, collecting data, preparing materials, and supervising students in various settings to enable a productive learning environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus potential for higher education credits or an associate degree, and a ParaPro/ParaEducator

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education with at least 60 credits OR an AA/AS/AAS or higher degree.
• Passing score on the ParaPro, ParaEducator, or ParaPathwaysAssessment; district will pay the assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing students’ individualized education plans including functional academics, vocational skills, social-emotional needs, and behavior management.
• Assist in implementing and following through on students’ individual plans in all settings including community sites and volunteer sites.
• Collect observational data on assigned student(s) and report to supervising teacher.
• Prepare, collect, and maintain educational materials and equipment.
• Participate in staffings, conferences, and other meetings; complete education forms and data as directed.
• Supervise students in large or small groups and work with students individually or in groups.
• Perform classroom protocol tasks and other related duties as assigned.
