Job summary

Hawaiʻi State Department of Education in Pearl City is seeking Educational Assistant III staff to support students with disabilities and general classroom duties. Positions span Educational Assistant I through III levels with appropriate qualifications.

Applicants must meet one of several education options and be able to lift up to 65 pounds. Driver’s license may be required for some postings; training is provided to ensure effective support in classrooms.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent with one of: ParaPro/ParaPathways assessment, 48 credits incl. math and English, or an associate degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs academic instruction‑related support activities and tutors students.
• Provides social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities.
• Performs counseling support activities and develops rapport with students.
• Provides articulation reinforcement lessons and speech drills as directed by a speech pathologist.
