Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking Educational Assistant III at the Kula location. The posting covers Educational Assistant I through III levels to fill multiple positions in a civil service framework.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers with instruction, monitoring student progress, and delivering speech, social, and daily living support tailored to students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent with one of the approved options.
• Chair qualifications include ParaPro or ParaPathways assessment via ETS.
• At least 48 baccalaureate-level credits including math and English.
• An associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs instructional support activities and tutors students as directed.
• Provides social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities.
• Performs counseling support activities and develops rapport with students.
• Delivers articulation reinforcement lessons and speech drills per the pathologist.

Education

Education Requirements: High school graduation or equivalent with options

ParaPro or ParaPathways Assessment (via ETS)

48 bachelor-level credits (math 3, English 3)
