Job description

Are you the Educational Support Specialist we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students!

Walden Street School is a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes in trauma-informed care. Walden provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday with overtime available as needed. The position is ideal for someone interested in special education, particularly with students with mental health struggles.

JRI Provides The Training So That:

• YOU will support students and staff in the classrooms and residential milieu as needed.
• YOU will complete written reports including IEP progress reports, treatment reports, and rounds.
• YOU will provide coverage for classes when teachers are out.
• YOU will support students 1:1 as needed.
• YOU will support students before school at breakfast, and on non-school days in the milieu, through providing student supervision, educational groups, and educational field trips as appropriate for individuals/groups of students.
• YOU will support the Director of Education and Assistant Program Director with tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.
• Special Education license preferred but not required.
• At least 1 year experience as a supervisor and administrator.
• At least 3 years of experience working in Special Education with young adults with emotional disabilities.
• Candidates with experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or treatment program are preferred.
• Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
