Elm Creek Elementary in Maple Grove, MN seeks an Educational Support Professional - Instructional (Highly Qualified) for a temporary role. You will support students' academic and social-emotional needs, supervise groups, and assist with small-group instruction and data tasks.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, potential for higher education credits or an associate degree, and passing a ParaPro/ParaEducator assessment (district covers cost).

Job Description

Job summary:To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and confidence to achieve their dreams, contribute to community, and engage in a lifetime of learning by assisting teaching staff and student with instructional support in the classroom.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Support the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
  • Assist the Principal, School Counselors, and Instructional Assistants with social-emotional learning and behavior support to individual students.
  • Supervise students in large group situations in classroom and other areas of the building or small groups.
  • Work with students individually or in small groups instructionally.
  • Assist in small group assessments and data management as it relates to student work in the areas of reading and math.
  • Perform functions associated with classroom protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicants must be Highly Qualified - Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
    • Two years of study at an institution of higher education; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
    • An Associate's (or higher) degree; An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree OR
    • Received a passing score on the ParaPro, ParaEducator, or ParaPathwaysAssessment.
      • The District will pay for the assessment.

Bargaining unit : Educational Support Professionals

Salary : Classification 2; View salary grid on the respective bargaining unit listed above, accessible via our Employee Contracts page

Work schedule : Monday through Friday. This position will end 6/10/2027

FTE : 6 hours per day

Desired start date : 9/8/2026
