Job summary

Franklin Public Schools is seeking an Educational Support Professional for the GOALS Program at Washington Street K-2 Elementary School in Franklin, MA. Position: Educational Support Professional: GOALS Program

Position Type: Full Time

Location: Washington K-2 Elementary School

Reports to: Building Principal

Salary: As per FEA ESP Contract

This position qualifies for town benefits, including Health Insurance

General Description:

The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated individual to work as an educational assistant in the GOALS Program at the Washington St. K-2 Elementary School. The GOALS Program provides a constellation of services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The program is designed to help children with Autism reach their full potential by providing direct instruction and embedded support in the areas of social skills, academic skills, behavior, language, self-regulation and communication across all environments. The students also receive highly specialized instruction within inclusion classrooms as appropriate. This work of the assistant is performed under the direction of administration, lead teachers and BCBA.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Aiding in planning and implementing academic and behavioral programming for assigned students in collaboration with other members of the team
  • Recording and summarizing data
  • Work collaboratively with GOALS team members
  • Modifying general education curriculum/expectations to meet student’s needs and skill level to insure successful inclusion experiences
  • Actively participate in on-going training
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher or ParaPro Certification
  • Experience with children with Autism required
  • Must be the kind of person who is warm, caring, respectful and have a strong desire to work with young children
  • Familiarity/training with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis required
  • Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).
