Job summary

Fairfield City School District in Ohio is seeking an Educational Support Assistant (part-time) at West Elementary. Under the direction of the Principal, you will support students in grades K-5, assist with reading and math interventions, monitor behavior, and help with classroom tasks.

Starting hourly rate is $17.37 per hour and up, with an excellent benefits package including life insurance, SERS retirement, medical, dental, disability and vision insurance, plus sick and personal days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Apply for and maintain an Educational Aide Permit (ODEW) and meet one of: (1) Associate degree or higher, (2) 48 college credit hours, or (3) Paraprofessional exam.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision, care and instruction of students in grades K-5.
• Support reading and math intervention.
• Monitor student behavior and assist with classroom tasks.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Principal or designee, this employee may perform reading/math intervention, and will assists in the supervision, care and instruction of students in grades K-5 by monitoring student behavior, performing classroom tasks, and providing information to appropriate school personnel.

PAY & BENEFITS
Beginning hourly rate: $17.37/hour and up, commensurate with related experience for regular employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Apply for and maintain an Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce (ODEW) and meet one of the following criteria (1) hold an Associate's degree or higher, (2) have taken forty-eight semester hours of college coursework, or (3) take a Paraprofessional exam.
