Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking educational professionals to lead analysis, planning, and coordination of statewide student support programs. Responsibilities include developing guidance, coordinating with departments and schools, and delivering professional learning resources for district staff.

Applicants should have a master’s degree in education with a subject-area specialization, plus extensive experience in education.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education with specialization in a subject area.
• Bachelor’s degree or education certificate and 2 years related experience may substitute.
• Six years of professional education experience, including four teaching years and two in curriculum or program planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for analysis, planning and coordination of student support programs.
• Analyze and develop statewide programming, guidelines and professional development resources.
• Coach and assist complex areas and schools to build capacity for comprehensive student support systems.
• Coordinate activities with other departments and external partners to implement student support practices.
• Plan and conduct professional learning opportunities for district and school staff.
• Prepare program plans, budgets, contracts and reports as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
