Job summary

Responsibilities include reviewing instructional practices, coordinating with staff and external partners, and aligning with Na Hopena Ao and GLOs. This 12-month role requires strong leadership, research, and collaboration skills to improve statewide educational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education with specialization in a subject field appropriate to the area of assignment.
• Bachelor’s degree plus five years of relevant experience in education may be substituted for the requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in planning, development, and evaluation of evidence-based and culturally sustaining professional development opportunities.
• Provides leadership for development/review of instructional practices and materials and related initiatives.
• Conducts studies and analyses of program needs, evaluates trends, and recommends new policies and resources.
• Reviews and prepares testimonies, reports, and presentations for the Hawaii State Legislature and Board.
• Keeps abreast of current research in curriculum development and instructional methods.
• Serves as liaison between the Department and other agencies and stakeholders.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
