Qualifications

• Completed requirements for Educational Interpreters as outlined by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation and/or transliteration for Deaf, Deaf/Blind, hard of hearing students and others.
• Abide by NAD-RID/EIPA Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
• Comply with all school policies and procedures.
• Facilitate communication using sign languages, spoken English, and accessibility knowledge.
• Interpret in classrooms, lectures, tests, and school activities as needed.
• Keep IEP/504 information confidential and address questions to the IEP teacher or 504 counselor.
• Collaborate with staff to support students' academic, social, and cognitive growth.
• Demonstrate professionalism, appearance, and promptness; dress to provide contrast.
