Job summary

Women In Need (Win) is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to lead educational and recreational programming for children and families in our shelter programs. You will design activities that promote learning, growth, and well-being, while supervising Recreation Associates and ensuring a safe, supportive environment.

The role emphasizes partnerships with schools and community groups, cultural responsiveness, and careful documentation of attendance and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of educational or recreational programming for children.
• 1+ year of supervisory experience.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Experience creating activities that support child development and family engagement.
• Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practices, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and oversee educational and recreational programs for children and families.
• Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and city agencies to expand access.
• Supervise and develop Recreation Associates, including staff training initiatives.
• Create activity schedules, promote parent engagement, and coordinate cultural events.
• Ensure safety by monitoring attendance and maintaining program standards.
• Manage supplies and inventory; keep spaces organized and safe.
• Collaborate with program staff and community partners to address participant needs.
• Maintain documentation, attendance records, and program data for continuous improvement.
