Job summary

Women In Need, Inc. (Win) is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to lead educational and recreational programs for children and families in our shelter programs.

You will supervise Recreation Associates, build partnerships, and ensure a safe, engaging environment that supports learning and well-being. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• At least 2 years of educational or recreational programming for children required.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience required.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required.
• Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and oversee educational and recreational programs for children and families.
• Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and city agencies to expand access to programs.
• Supervise, coach, and develop Recreation Associates and support staff training.
• Create activity schedules, promote parent engagement, and coordinate culturally responsive events.
• Ensure safety of participating children by monitoring attendance and maintaining program standards.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and inventory, keeping spaces safe and organized.
• Collaborate with program staff and community partners to address needs of families.
• Maintain documentation, attendance records, and program data for continuous improvement.
