Job summary

The successful candidate must possess ability to travel to meetings across campus and within health care spaces. Must able be able to work in a sedentary position utilizing computer.

Shift

Work shift will primarily be Monday thru Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional early or late hours based on need.

Job Summary

The Clinical/Educational Quality & Program Director provides senior-level administrative, operational, educational, and quality oversight for the Department of Anesthesiology's healthcare education and workforce pipeline portfolio. The position establishes strategic direction; translates departmental and institutional priorities into measurable program plans; and holds responsibility for the design, implementation, evaluation, compliance, and continuous improvement of complex, multi-partner initiatives serving learners across the educational continuum.

The director leads governance and cross-functional coordination among Kentucky school systems, colleges and universities, UK HealthCare clinical departments, healthcare organizations, workforce partners, and community stakeholders. The position defines program standards, allocates resources, oversees implementation across sites, evaluates operational and educational performance, and advises departmental leadership regarding program quality, risk, capacity, expansion, and sustainability.

The position provides comprehensive oversight of grant-supported and externally funded initiatives, including funding strategy, proposal development, budget planning, implementation, fiscal monitoring, regulatory and sponsor compliance, performance management, required reporting, and closeout. In partnership with principal investigators, departmental leadership, grant administrators, and financial personnel, the director ensures that funded activities, expenditures, deliverables, and outcomes remain aligned with approved scopes of work and institutional requirements.

Through data-informed leadership, educational expertise, fiscal stewardship, and systems-level collaboration, the director advances program quality, learner safety and experience, workforce development, scholarly dissemination, and the responsible growth of the department’s educational mission.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The successful candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, will promote and model teamwork, and will be comfortable with Microsoft Office or similar tools.

Bachelors degree (or higher) and at least 8 years of healthcare experience strongly desired. Masters degree including MPH , MSN , MBA , MHA , or MPA preferred. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of ambulatory practice, budgeting, data analysis, leadership and communication.
