Reporting to the supervisor, the Educational Media Equipment Technician is responsible for administrative and technical functions associated with receiving, inspecting, maintaining, testing, and issuing film, video, photography, lighting, audiovisual (AV), and related production equipment. The role supports students, faculty, and staff by ensuring the availability, functionality, and accurate tracking of equipment through the WebCheckout inventory management system.
The position is full‑time, benefits‑eligible, 35 hours per week, on a 9‑month academic‑year schedule, working from September through May, with summers off. This 9‑month schedule is based on Monday‑Friday second shift, usually from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; scheduling may be adjusted and may require occasional flexibility including alternate campus locations, weekends, or modified hours.
Two positions are open: one for the Hillside Campus and one for the South Campus.

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a shop and office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions; extended periods of time using shop equipment including but not limited to computers, audio and sound equipment; interactions with other individuals. Due to the nature of the work environment, there is exposure to loud noises, chemicals, fumes, dust and heat.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a shop setting; to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time; including bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, squatting, and twisting; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight (50 lbs individually or team‑lift up to 100 pounds); to operate office and shop equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: Must be able to have the visual capacity to perform activities such as preparing and reading reports, viewing a computer terminal and other normal office work with or without correction.
Hearing: Must be able to communicate effectively in the course of normal office communication or exchange ideas with or without correction.
