Job description

Make a meaningful impact as an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter supporting a 7th grade student on a full-time contract assignment near Tempe, AZ. This rewarding opportunity focuses on providing vital communication access for one student at a middle school, ensuring they receive the support needed to thrive in their educational environment.

In this role, youll work school day hours, arriving before the first bell (around 8:15-8:20 AM) and remaining through dismissal at 3:40 PM. Your expertise will foster inclusivity, bridge communication barriers, and contribute to a positive school experience for both the student and the wider classroom community.

Key Qualifications:

• Successful completion of the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a minimum score of 3.5
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience in K-12 settings preferred, especially as an ASL interpreter or paraeducator
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and staff
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
