Mt. Diablo Unified School District is seeking an Educational Interpreter for El Dorado Middle School in Concord, CA. This part‑time role (4.8 hours/day) supports DHH students in general education settings and extracurricular activities as outlined in the student’s IEP.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma and 48 college units (or an AA degree) or pass an approved proficiency exam.
• Valid email required for test invitation when applying.
• License: California Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret expressively and receptively for DHH students using signing, fingerspelling, voicing and silent vocalization.
• Assist in instruction and supervision to implement programs.
• Serve as liaison with Deaf community and staff for interpreting.
• Attend job-related meetings and possibly work at multiple sites.
• Facilitate communication between DHH students, staff, parents and community.
