Qualifications

• Must meet requirements per South Carolina State Board of Education Regulation 43-243.2.
• Beginning 2028 - Associate's Degree/beginning 2034 - Bachelor's Degree.
• EIPA rating targets 3.5 (2026/27), 3.7 (2030/31), 4.0 (2033/34) or national RID certification.
• Documentation of valid, successful completion of EIPA: Written Test (EIPA: WT)

Responsibilities

• Interprets classroom instruction, peer discussions and school activities into sign language or visual code.
• Facilitates language access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across settings.
• Assists with IEP meetings and ensures interpreter provision as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional standards in all duties.
• Operates standard office and technology equipment for daily tasks.
