Job summary

The Santa Cruz County Office of Education is seeking a Fiscal Accountant assigned to the Alternative Education Department. Under direction of an administrator, you will perform complex record keeping and reporting, review and submit payrolls to the Business Services Division, and balance program accounts.

You will assist in budgets and budget analysis while maintaining transaction records. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and four years of

• Education: Equivalent to the completion of a Bachelor's degree with course work in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field.
• Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible payroll, accounting and bookkeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Review, maintain, verify, and submit payrolls and supporting documents to the Business Services Division.
• Maintain, verify, and update end-of-year program financial reports.
• Compile, prepare, and check statistical accounting reports.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, budget reporting and budget analysis.
