Job summary

ENGICON CM in Los Angeles is seeking a District Facilities Design Manager to lead the district’s A&E design process, ensuring programs stay within budget, environment, and regulatory requirements. The role involves coordinating architects, consultants, and district staff to deliver timely, compliant projects.

Responsibilities include selecting architectural partners, guiding goals and site/schedule decisions, and maintaining rigorous design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of full-time paid professional experience in facilities design or planning and coordination of capital projects.
• 4 years of this experience must be with design, planning and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Manages, develops, and coordinates the district’s design process for A&E services to ensure plans meet program, budget, environmental, and legal requirements.
• Manages multiple projects including engineering repair and critical repair with Architects, consultants, and District personnel to ensure timely completion.
• Oversees the building design process to ensure compliance with LAUSD standards and guidelines for new and modernized structures.
• Establishes process to identify and select architectural firms based on qualifications and performance.
• Provides architects with clear direction regarding goals, standards, site, schedule, and budget.
• Establishes and follows design review processes to meet project goals.
• Reviews design changes to keep projects within budget and reports progress.
