LaPoynor ISD is seeking a professional Diagnostician to assess educational needs and student eligibility for special education services. The role includes coordinating assessments, collaborating with ARD committees, and helping develop effective IEPs with teachers and families.

Candidate must hold a Master’s in educational assessment, a Texas educational diagnostician certificate, and a Texas teaching certificate, with at least two years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in educational assessment
• Valid Texas teaching certificate
• Valid Texas educational diagnostician certificate
• Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, education of special education students, human development, and learning theories
• Ability to interpret data
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Two years teaching experience

Responsabilités

• Assess students to determine eligibility for special education services according to regulations.
• Collect and evaluate data from observations, interviews, and records.
• Participate in ARD committee to interpret data, plan placement, and develop IEPs.
• Present staff development training to schools to help personnel identify and understand students with disabilities.
• Assist classroom teachers with implementation of IEP.
• Participate in selection of assessment materials and coordinate evaluation of the assessment program.
• Maintain and file required reports and records.
• Comply with applicable laws, rules, and district policies.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
