Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience (special education preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties related to the identification of students with disabilities.
• Completes documents for district processes regarding provision of special education services.
• Follows district, state and federal regulations.
• Attends IEP meetings and prepares accurate paperwork documenting the meetings.
• Coordinates scheduling of staffings and IEP meetings.
• Meets required timelines for assessments, evaluations, reports, meetings and documentation.
• Facilitates coordination of evaluation personnel and service providers.
• Distributes IEP meeting information to staff, students and parents.
• Under supervision, conducts assessments for identification of students with disabilities and prepares evaluations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance is essential.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in education

Minimum of 30 hours toward a Master's degree in education and Educational Diagnostician certification within the first school year

Completed two college major testing courses (Intellectual assessment and Achievement testing)

Minimum of three years of teaching experience (special education preferred)
