Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate.
• Valid Diagnostician’s Certificate or Licensed Specialist in School Psychology.
• Three years successful classroom experience.
• Previous experience as Diagnostician preferred.
• Ability to work with school and community populations.
• Ability to utilize a variety of assessment instruments to assess disabilities as defined by IDEA.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds including parents, teachers, administrators and advocacy groups.

Responsibilities

• Cooperate with local education agency, community and state programs to provide comprehensive services.
• Attend campus faculty, special education and ARD meetings, and parent conferences.
• Recommend classroom interventions, consultation and pull-out services to meet IEP needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, psychologists, SLPs and related staff to support student needs.
• Meet with related personnel to coordinate objectives for individualized programs.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate eligibility files for staff.
• Complete ARD materials and ensure compliance with timelines.
• Coordinate and request additional evaluations as appropriate.
