Job summary

Castilleja School in Palo Alto seeks a Communications Writer and Media Content Specialist to create and edit content for internal and external audiences, following brand and style guidelines. The role reports news, shares program updates on the website and social media, and produces long-form pieces for annual publications.

The person will manage the weekly community newsletter, support school outreach and events, and collaborate with Leadership Team.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a writer, journalist, educator, or marketing copywriter with a portfolio of mid- and long-form content.
Ability to write for digital channels with strong storytelling and UX considerations.
Experience with digital photography and basic photo editing.

Responsibilities

Outstanding writing, editing, and copyediting skills for publications, website, letters, and programs.
Maintain brand voice across content and channels; update and review content.
Create social media content, take photographs, and obtain permissions where needed.
Capture and edit digital photography to support communications.
Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects with limited supervision.
Collaborate with teams to produce content and incorporate feedback.
Prepare content for weekly newsletter components and distributions.
Support outreach events and coordinate with leadership and the department.
