Job summary

Stoneham Public Schools is seeking an Educational Coach (ESP) for the MAIPSE program at Middlesex Community College on a part-time basis. The coach will provide individualized support to students as they develop skills for college, employment, and community life.

The role involves collaboration with students, college personnel, families, and employers to identify opportunities and promote independence and self-advocacy in various settings.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, college personnel, employers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a variety of college, community, and employment settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized coaching and support to students participating in the MAIPSE program in college and employment settings.
  • Support students in their college classes 2 per week
  • Support student in identifying college supports to complete academic tasks and community building
  • Teach and reinforce skills related to punctuality, attendance, communication, problem-solving, self-advocacy, workplace expectations, and professional conduct.
  • Communicate regularly with MAIPSE staff regarding student progress, challenges, successes, and needed supports.
  • Participate in team meetings, student planning meetings, and transition planning as appropriate.
  • Support students in developing self-advocacy skills and communicating their needs in college and workplace settings.
  • Promote opportunities for students to build relationships and participate meaningfully in the college and broader community.
  • Support students in problem-solving challenges that arise in college, employment, and community settings.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of student participation, progress, services, and employment experiences.

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred in education or related field

Job Description

Stoneham Public School Educational Coach for the MAIPSE program at Middlesex Community College

The Education Coach supports students participating in a Massachusetts Inclusive Postsecondary Education (MAIPSE) program at Middlesex Community College as they develop the skills and experiences needed for successful participation in college, employment, and community life. The Ed Coach provides individualized coaching and support in campus and employment settings while promoting student independence, self-advocacy, and meaningful participation in the college community.

The Ed Coach works collaboratively with students, college personnel, program staff, families, employers, and community partners to identify employment opportunities and support students in developing and maintaining successful work experiences.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized coaching and support to students participating in the MAIPSE program in college and employment settings.
  • Support students in their college classes 2 per week

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in education, special education, rehabilitation counseling, human services, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly young adults transitioning to postsecondary education and employment.
