Job summary

Hamilton Township School District in New Jersey seeks an Educational Assistant (ERI) to support students in our ERI program under supervision of a certified teacher.

The role is 185 days per year, a 10-month position, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical/vision, prescription and dental insurance, and paid time off. Eligible employees will be entered into the NJ Pension Program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 60 college credits preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support students who struggle with emotional self-regulation and behavioral challenges under teacher supervision.
• Assist academic tasks under a teacher's supervision.
• Implement behavior plans to support student progress.
• Maintain a safe, structured classroom environment.
• De-escalate and reinforce positive social skills under supervision.
• Track daily behavior data.

Educational Assistant (ERI)

The Special Education Assistant works under the direct supervision of a certified teacher to support students in our ERI (Emotional Regulation Impairment) program
