Job summary

Hawaiʻi State Department of Education is seeking Educational Assistants at the Kailua location to provide paraprofessional support under the Educational Assistant III level. Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Successful completion of ParaPro or ParaPathways assessment or equivalent.
At least 48 baccalaureate-level credits including math and English.
An associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

Independently performs various academic and instruction-related support activities; tutors students as directed by the teacher.
Independently provides social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities in school or community settings.
Independently provides counseling support; develops rapport with students and notes progress and needs.
Independently provides articulation reinforcement lessons and drills to correct speech sounds as guided by a speech pathologist.
