Job summary

Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking Educational Assistants at the Educational Assistant III level to provide paraprofessional support under teacher supervision at the Honolulu location.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an examination approved by the Hawaii State Department of Education (ParaPro or ParaPathways Assessment).
• At least 48 baccalaureate-level semester credits from an accredited institution including 3 credits in mathematics and 3 credits in English.
• An associate degree or higher from an accredited institution recognized by the Department.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs academic and instructional support activities as directed by the teacher.
• Provides social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities.
• Supports counseling activities to build healthy self-concepts and social skills.
• Assists in articulation reinforcement and speech drills under supervision.
