Job summary

The Hawaiʻi State Department of Education is seeking Educational Assistants at Kailua to support teachers and students in the classroom. The authorized level is Educational Assistant III, with eligibility extended to EA I if recruiting challenges arise.

Qualifications

• Education requirements including multiple paths to qualification.
• Experience requirements vary by level (I–III) and are defined by Hawaii DOE.
• Driver's license may be required for some positions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 65–100 pounds with/without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform academic, instruction-related support and tutor students.
• Provide social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities.
• Provide counseling support, build rapport, and observe progress.
• Deliver articulation reinforcement lessons under speech pathologist guidance.
