Job summary

Wilson County School District Barry Tatum Academy in Lebanon, Tennessee seeks an Educational Assistant - Gen Ed to support teachers and students. The role is full‑time for 180 days with benefits, 7.5 hours per day, hours pre‑start and post‑dismissal.

Starting pay is set by education and placement on the salary schedule, with initial rates at $14.33/hour (Grade 1) or $14.65/hour (Grade 3). Eligible staff receive health, dependent insurance, retirement, PTO and holidays.

Job Description

Qualified applicant must have minimum of high school diploma or GED. Post‑secondary education is preferred.

The successful candidate will work under the directive of the teacher(s) or principal, helping carry out tasks and goals for the students he/she serves.

This is a full‑time, 180‑day assignment with insurance and retirement benefits. Employees are scheduled and expected to work 7.5 hours per day, starting before students arrive and leaving after students have been dismissed.

Pay rate will be determined by education completed, experience, and placement on the Hourly Classified Salary Schedule. For applicants with less than a 2‑year degree (or coursework equivalent), the appropriate grade isGrade 1. For those with at least 2‑year degree (or coursework equivalent), the appropriate grade isGrade 3. Starting rate of pay will be no less than $14.33 per hour (Grade 1) or $14.65 (Grade 3).
