Job summary

West Ottawa Public Schools in Waukazoo Elementary School is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students and teachers. This 29.5-hour-per-week position begins November 16, 2026 and reports to the Principal.

Responsibilities include assisting with morning drop-off and supervision, preparing materials, providing 1:1 or small-group support, and helping with behavior and personal care needs. This role may involve outdoor work and variable daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• 60 credit hours or associate degree or parapro assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports students with morning drop off/pickups, recess supervision, and breaks
• Work with teachers to ensure materials are prepared
• Provide breaks for support staff and teachers
• Lead and/or support students 1:1 or in small group instruction
• Student behavior support
• Support students with personal care needs
• Other duties as assigned
