Job summary

Cassia Schools seeks an ASL Sign Language Interpreter to interpret for a student in a school setting. The role requires an associate or bachelor’s degree with interpreting emphasis or equivalent training and credentialing in educational interpretation.

The interpreter will support the student’s access to communication across general and special education, fostering independence and social behaviors through total communication at the student’s level.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree with interpreting as major emphasis or experience and formal training in interpreting.
• Qualified and/or credentialed educational interpreter in general and special education settings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret programs, meetings, mainstream classes and student activities.
• Provide instructions or planning for student.
• Act as a resource person regarding manual communication related issues.
• Exhibit compliance with district regulations, reimbursement requirements, and job responsibilities.
• Demonstrate competence in sign language.
• Other duties as assigned
