Job summary

Amergis is seeking an Educational Sign Language Interpreter to facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and others within an educational setting. This role uses American Sign Language to interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, ensuring accommodations in classroom instruction, activities and learning discussions.

The position is a Contract - Full Time role in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required.
• Associates or Bachelors degree in interpreting, deaf studies or related field preferred.
• State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate as applicable.
• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate as applicable.
• RID certification as applicable.
