Job summary

Stark County Educational Service Center is seeking an Educational Aide for the 2026-2027 school year in Ohio. The role supports classroom teachers, assists with IEP implementation, and helps students with mobility and daily activities.

Requires SBOE permit eligibility and background checks; trains must be completed with strong ethics. The position is full-time, on-site in district settings, with expectations to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain confidentiality of student

Qualifications

• 18 years of age
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Hold or be able to obtain a valid Educational Aide Permit from the SBOE with ESEA Qualified Endorsement
• Ohio BCI and Federal Background check, free of disqualifying infractions
• Participate in required trainings including Bloodborne Pathogens, Crisis Intervention, Educator Ethics
• Maintain high ethical standards and accept responsibility

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist student(s) as needed in classroom routines
• Assist teacher with implementation of student IEPs
• Assist student(s) with mobility, feeding, toileting, etc.
• Maintain a conducive learning environment free of health and safety hazards
• Work with students individually and in small groups to promote learning
• Operate Google Applications (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Docs)
• Assist with health-related procedures as needed
• Initiate and follow through with behavioral interventions
• Communicate with teacher regarding student progress
• Participate in meetings as necessary
• Accompany and monitor students in other school program areas
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Perform other duties as assigned
