Job summary

Preble County ESC is seeking qualified applicants to serve as an educational aide in the MD classroom program. The role is full-time, with days based on the school calendar, and the start date is as soon as possible.

Under supervision of the classroom teacher, you will assist students in the Multiple Disabilities program, prepare and present activities, supervise students, and help implement behavior management plans. A CPI safety protocol may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work with students with multiple difficulties.
• Clear background check required.
• Physically capable of applying CPI techniques for safety.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Type:

Support Staff/ Educational Assistant

Description:

Under the immediate supervision of the classroom teacher, provide assistance to students in the Multiple Disabilities program in preparation and presentation of activities, supervision, and fulfilling behavior management plan directives.

Salary:

Starting at $15.80 per hour/based on experience

Essential Functions:

• Ensure the safetyof students
• Maintain respect at all times for confidential information
• Interact in a positive manner with students, staff, parents, and administrators
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of teacher-planned activities
• Supervise and monitor students in all school settings based on behavioral management plans
• Work with other MD staff in team decision-making
• Assist students in the creation of recovery plans based on behavior management plans developed by teachers/supervisors
• Assist in the completion of necessary documentationand paperwork for charting behavior and academic progress
• Attend work regularly and punctually
• Demonstrate positive work ethic
