Job summary

TNTP The New Teacher Project in the United States is seeking a Chief Education to Career Officer to guide the next phase of TNTP’s work beyond K-12, partnering with employers and postsecondary institutions to build strong career pathways for young people.

The role requires visionary leadership, deep experience in workforce development and revenue generation, and the ability to translate labor-market and AI insights into scalable services across diverse sectors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of senior leadership experience in workforce development or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience launching and scaling education-to-career or cross-sector systems work.
• Strong revenue generation and partnership-building track record.
• Ability to interpret labor-market signals and technology shifts.
• Excellent executive communication and spokesperson skills.
• Established relationships across public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
• Strong leadership of high-performing teams.
• Willingness to travel 35-40%.

Responsibilities

• Set and articulate a clear, compelling vision for TNTP’s Education to Career portfolio that reflects the organization’s strategic shift into transformational work, new markets, and new sectors.
• Define enterprise strategy for connected education-to-career pathways across K-12, postsecondary, workforce, employer, and industry systems.
• Bring external insights, labor-market trends and AI-driven shifts to shape organizational direction.
• Create new lines of work, incubate and test emerging service models, and scale what proves effective across markets and sectors.
• Bring real AI fluency to TNTP’s Education to Career strategy and determine what young people and the systems serving them need to prepare for a changing economy.
• Own measurable outcomes across TNTP’s education-to-career ecosystem, driving impact for young people and the partners supporting their pathways to meaningful work and long-term economic mobility.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive growth, sales, and market-entry strategy for the E2C portfolio, including sectors beyond TNTP’s historic K-12 footprint.
• Secure new business, meet revenue targets, diversify TNTP’s service offerings, and shape sustainable funding and partnership models.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, funders, employers, industry leaders, workforce partners, postsecondary institutions, and strategic partners.
• Serve as a leading external voice on education-to-career pathways and economic mobility.
• Amplify TNTP’s narrative through speaking, publications, and partnerships.
• Translate TNTP’s work into compelling narratives that influence the field.
• Serve as a builder and enterprise leader on TNTP’s Executive Team, helping shape the next phase of Education to Career work.
• Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team.
• Advance revenue-minded approaches to market entry, partnerships, funding models, and services.
