Job summary

Newark Public Schools is seeking a Technology Coordinator to lead the district's technology integration efforts. The role focuses on supporting schools, planning professional development, and modeling best practices for using educational technology.

The coordinator will oversee hardware/software inventories, pilot innovative tools, and collaborate with the Principal and HR Services to align technology with curriculum. A NJ teaching certificate and tech experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
• New Jersey Permanent Teacher's Certificate.
• Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience in the Newark Public Schools preferred.
• Demonstrated technology experience via college/university courses related to computer technology or education, prior training, or demonstrated achievement in using advanced technology.
• Possession of a driver's license, valid in New Jersey, only if vehicle operation is necessary to perform the duties.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently; ASL or Braille may be acceptable forms.
• Persons with disabilities eligible with reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assists and supports schools and teachers in the infusion of technology.
• Participates in activities to engage students, staff, parents, and the community in instructional technology.
• Plans and conducts staff development sessions and workshops for teachers and District staff.
• Demonstrates and models effective teaching practices for teachers and administrators in technology.
• Manages inventory and maintenance of hardware/software and safety resources.
• Supports implementation of distance learning and educational technology across the district.
