Job summary

Columbia Public School District is seeking a Paraprofessional (2025-26) to support students requiring special education services under teacher supervision. Level 1–3 assignments determine pay; duties include material prep, behavior management, and direct caregiving under supervision.

Reporting to classroom teachers and principals, the role requires completion of a 20-hour substitute training or paraprofessional exam, with preferred college credits.

Qualifications

• Completion of the 20-hour Substitute Training Course or passing of the Paraprofessional Exam.
• Preferred: Official Transcripts with 60 hours of college credit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare student materials and reinforce material as described by the teacher.
• Manage student behavior and classroom organization; implement policies and regulations.
• Provide direct caregiving services under supervision of teachers and staff.
• Attend required yearly in-service training (10 to 15 hours).
• Perform other duties to support the district mission and vision.
