Job summary

Savannah R3 School District is seeking compassionate paraprofessionals to support certified teachers and assist students, particularly those with special needs, to reach their potential.

You will help deliver instructional activities, provide individualized support, and report on student progress within a safe learning environment. Prior experience with children and strong communication are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Completion of 60 college credit hours or Paraprofessional Assessment or Missouri substitute teaching certificate.
• Experience working with children, especially those with special needs, is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with student assistance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom or special education teachers in delivering instructional activities.
• Provide individualized support to students, including re-teaching lessons as needed.
• Support students with special needs, which may involve physical assistance such as lifting, toileting, and feeding.
• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor and report on student progress.
