Qualifications

• Must have 60 college credit hours or have passed one of the approved paraprofessional assessments or hold the 20HR Substitute Certificate.
• Passed the ParaPro Assessment before September 23, 2013.
• Passed the Paraprofessional Assessment through Pearson (Sept 23, 2013–June 20, 2024).
• Passed the ParaPro Assessment through ETS (July 1, 2024 forward).
• Completed the 20HR Substitute Certificate Course.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher in the classroom and help implement instructional plans.
• Reinforce or reteach skills under teacher direction.
• Assist with student behavior management and recordkeeping.
• Prepare for instruction and assist with grading, attendance, and materials.
