Job summary

Broward Children’s Center (BCC) is seeking a dedicated classroom assistant to support teachers in daily educational programs at Academy South, Dania Beach. The role involves preparing materials, assisting students, supervising activities, and helping maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least six months related experience; CPR/First Aid certification and a 45‑hour Child Care course are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and six months related experience.
• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
• 45 Hours Child-care Course required by some programs; valid Florida driver's license may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing daily classroom programs under the teacher's direction.
• Prepare learning materials and set up centers for student activities.
• Support small groups or individual students with reading and activities.
• Supervise students during play, lunch, and field trips as assigned.
• Perform clerical tasks and help with general housekeeping as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings; maintain confidentiality about students and families.
