Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Participate in district and school professional development programs.
• Comply with district policies and procedures.
• Assist in daily and long-range lesson planning with the certified teacher.
• Model reading, writing, and speaking skills for students.
• Reinforce skills taught by a certified teacher in basic language, reading, math, and social skills.
• Monitor student work and communicate misunderstandings to the teacher for reteaching.
• Alert the teacher to special needs of individual children.
• Provide escort and assistance to students as needed (cafeteria, restrooms, playground).
• Ensure safety of students, report hazards, and maintain orderly classrooms.
• Assist in maintaining student records and developing educational displays.
• Assist with coaching physical activities to strengthen motor skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Principal or Certified Teacher.
