Job summary

Blessing Health is seeking a Nursing Professional Development leader responsible for directing the Nursing Professional Development team, modeling the 9 Studer Principles, and ensuring staff excellence.

This role supervises scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions while aligning practices with organizational budgets and mission. RN licensure in Illinois and BLS must be maintained, with a focus on community-based care in Quincy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an RN School of Nursing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• RN with relevant experience in nursing practice.
• BSN.
• A minimum 3 years experience in leadership/supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Nursing Professional Development activities and staff.
• Ensure compliance with schedules, policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
• Lead selection, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of employees including disciplinary actions.
• Maintain subordinates' skill levels to cover duties when necessary.
• Make budget-aligned decisions and manage departmental goals.

BASED ON RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Job Summary

Responsible for the activities and work efforts of Nursing Professional Development employees. May need to function as staff. Is actively engaged and models the skills and behaviors of the 9 Studer Principles leading to an outcome of organizational excellence. Supervises activities consistent with department goals. Reports to the Manager of Education. Is an active advocate of Blessing Health System in the community. This position assures compliance with established schedules, protocols, policies, procedures and regulatory standards. Assumes delegated responsibilities for selection, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of employees including disciplinary action, conflict resolution, and recommendations for termination. Is required to maintain skill level of subordinates in order to assume duties when necessary. Makes decisions consistent with organizational/department budgets.

This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Corporate Services. ICARE standards must be demonstrated. Adherence to Code of Conduct and other policies is required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required
