Job summary

UC Santa Barbara's Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory seeks an Education and Science Engagement Coordinator to administer education and science engagement programming in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area, leveraging air quality data from a regional sensor network.

The Coordinator will develop hands-on modules, manage program delivery, travel to schools, and build partnerships with districts and community organizations while supporting outreach and environmental education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, public health, environmental science, communications, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop informal after-school education modules on environmental data science, air quality, and public health.
• Administer education programming and deliver programs to students, teachers, and communities.
• Collaborate with schools and community groups to organize events and field trips.
• Build partnerships with school staff, students, and local residents.
• Manage logistics and budgets for education programs.
• Provide support to research activities related to air sensor data and act as a community liaison.
• Contribute to outreach programs for Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory when time allows.
